Reflective Solar Control Glasses

Tentesol Reflective and Tentesol T Reflective are the reflective brands of ŞİŞECAM FLAT GLASS, falling under the category of solar control glass.

 

Produced in the float line manufacturing process, they are obtained by coating clear or tinted glasses with various metal oxides.

 

The coating exhibits high mechanical and chemical resistance.

 

Available in silver, green, smoke, bronze, and blue colors.

 

In curtain-walled buildings, its reflective feature aids in concealing building elements such as columns, beams, parapet walls, suspended ceilings, and utility voids, ensuring visual integrity.

 

Recommended for use within Insulating Glass Units (IGUs), it can also be used as a single glass pane. However, for cleaning, mild detergents and soft cloths should be used, avoiding abrasive materials on coated surfaces.

 

When used within an Insulating Glass Unit alongside clear float glass or heat control coated (Low-E) glasses, it provides both solar and thermal control.

 

The coated surface can be positioned either on the interior (2nd surface) or exterior (1st surface). If the coating is on the exterior, reflections are emphasized, while if on the interior, color is more prominent.

 

When the coating is on the exterior, dirt is more easily noticeable on reflective surfaces, requiring more frequent glass cleaning based on air pollution and atmospheric dust levels. Therefore, it is advisable to position the coating on the interior.

 

Due to its reflective property, it creates a mirror effect when viewed from the side where the light is strong. For instance, during daylight hours, it provides a one-way view from the inside out, and at night, the opposite occurs, offering a one-way view from the outside in.

 

Tempering, semi-tempering, and curving processes are applicable.

 

Lamination is also possible for Şişecam Tentesol; however, when laminating, tempering or partial tempering of all layers of laminated glass is necessary to mitigate the risk of thermal breakage.

 

All solar control glasses have thermal breakage risks. Therefore, it is recommended to use tempered or partially tempered Şişecam Tentesol series solar control glasses to minimize these risks.
